Watercolor Play


I was inspired by CeeCee's latest post to play with watercolor crayons.  I don't have any caran d'ache  watercolor crayons, so I used my Staedtler watercolor crayons. I was enjoying the process so much that I got a little carried away with the watercolor, but Hey I like it!!
I really should learn to leave more white space though.  


I do have to say that my carpal tunnel gave me a fit drawing all those little lines, but I pushed on through it and I have big fat flowers.  
I did use  a golden Twinkling H2O's to add the metallic highlights.  You can't see it very well in the picture, but I can see it on my page and it gives just the right amount of glimmer.
I'm not too keen on my lettering.  I should have just left like it was when I first wrote it and not tried to darken it.  Oh well, next time.
I think I'm going to try this technique out with a few of my other mediums, like my Gelatos and Portfolios and my Twinkling H2O's to see how each of them turn out.

Looks more than awesome!! I love the wc.. I have the same ones you do as well.. you care more about your writing then we do! lolol as long as we can read it.. should be fine!! :) and we can!!

First...you finally blogged...like wow, be careful and not over do that...lol Secondly, I love the page, it turned out great, I too have a problem with leaving white space and drawing lots of lines...does you hand go to sleep? Mine does.

Beautiful, I love the technique, will have to check out Cee Cee's also. I thought you stamped the flowers. You did so good on them! And I too think your handwriting is fabulous!

Anna, you did a fantastic job with the flowers and your background! White space is not for everyone so you do what makes you happy. And please, leave the handwriting in. It's fabulous!

Tim Holtz -Tag Tags of 2013

March When Tim posted his March tag for the 12 Tags of  2013  I knew I was going to have to do some major improvising because although I have a lot of Tim Holtz products in my stash, the only things I had this time was the Foliage and Memo Pins.   It took me a few days to wrap my head around it... but in the end I'm really happy with how my tag turned out  and it was nice to have some creative time at my art desk. Project 30 - Day 16 - January 30, 2007

This is Momma Cat. She adopted us a couple of years ago when she needed a home for her kitties. She's guarding a lizard that she'd been playing with and wasn't quite sure whether I was after it or not. We are having our two weeks of Winter these days with cold, gray skies and blustery wind. What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday? As always I'm running late posting my workdesk, but a busy day at work and then I had errands to run  which kept me away from my desk until late this evening. Once I finally had a chance to sit down I dug out my acrylics to work a bit more in my art journal.   My daughter brought me a snack of popcorn and I had to be careful not to eat my brushes or try and wash them out in the popcorn cup. If you look close on the right side you can see Momma Cat.   She thought I needed supervision and it was all I could do to keep her from walking through the wet paint! ...then when I wasn't paying close attention my other black cat, Sneakers, walked right through my little puddle of black paint.   Now THAT was fun trying to get it all off of his paws.   He wasn't too happy with me after that! and here's a little close-up of the journal page that I'm working on.
