Watercolor Play


I was inspired by CeeCee's latest post to play with watercolor crayons.  I don't have any caran d'ache  watercolor crayons, so I used my Staedtler watercolor crayons. I was enjoying the process so much that I got a little carried away with the watercolor, but Hey I like it!!
I really should learn to leave more white space though.  


I do have to say that my carpal tunnel gave me a fit drawing all those little lines, but I pushed on through it and I have big fat flowers.  
I did use  a golden Twinkling H2O's to add the metallic highlights.  You can't see it very well in the picture, but I can see it on my page and it gives just the right amount of glimmer.
I'm not too keen on my lettering.  I should have just left like it was when I first wrote it and not tried to darken it.  Oh well, next time.
I think I'm going to try this technique out with a few of my other mediums, like my Gelatos and Portfolios and my Twinkling H2O's to see how each of them turn out.

Looks more than awesome!! I love the wc.. I have the same ones you do as well.. you care more about your writing then we do! lolol as long as we can read it.. should be fine!! :) and we can!!

First...you finally blogged...like wow, be careful and not over do that...lol Secondly, I love the page, it turned out great, I too have a problem with leaving white space and drawing lots of lines...does you hand go to sleep? Mine does.

Beautiful, I love the technique, will have to check out Cee Cee's also. I thought you stamped the flowers. You did so good on them! And I too think your handwriting is fabulous!

Anna, you did a fantastic job with the flowers and your background! White space is not for everyone so you do what makes you happy. And please, leave the handwriting in. It's fabulous!

I Sing the Song of my People...

Just a bit of fun with my stamps, inks and stencils today...   I used Cat Walk   stencil from the March release at  A Colorful Life Designs  and this cute singing  cat from KaztelKraft that I purchased from TopFlight Stamps called Fernand - Les gros chats ! I used My Favorite Things Extreme Black Hybrid ink to stamp Fernand and Copics for coloring.  I used Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink to stencil the background and wrote the sentiment with my Cricut Maker and Cricut fine line black marker. I hand drew the notes, as I couldn't find any tiny note stamps in my stash and then used black bling from EyeLet Outlet to pop up the notes and some fun colorful flower stickers from The Paper Studio.   Although the photo doesn't really show it, the cat is stamped on the background and then stamped separately on another piece of white cardstock and fussy cut and layered on the background with foam tape.  Found some blue cardstock to match in my stash and layered the sentime

Tim Holtz -Tag Tags of 2013

March When Tim posted his March tag for the 12 Tags of  2013  I knew I was going to have to do some major improvising because although I have a lot of Tim Holtz products in my stash, the only things I had this time was the Foliage and Memo Pins.   It took me a few days to wrap my head around it... but in the end I'm really happy with how my tag turned out  and it was nice to have some creative time at my art desk. Anna I didn't have the Fringe Die so I  cut my grass by hand.  I looked at the picture of the die and sized my grass to match  Tim's.  I had Green Co-ordinations but not the Kraft one...so my grass is green on both sides of the fence.  I sanded the paper first and then gave it a good dose of Walnut Stain Distress Ink before cutting.  Then after I put it on my tag, I gave it a little hint of Picked Raspberry.
