Getting Inky tonight!

Decided I needed to get a bit inky tonight, so I dug out my stamps and inks and FINALLY got to work on my March Tag for the 12 Tags of 2012 that Tim Holtz is doing on his blog. 
It's already half way through the month, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does for April.

...here is the tag that Tim did and posted for March.


I didn't have a woodgrain stamp for my tag...so I started digging through my stamps to see what I could find, and found a wonderful oversized stamp by Stamp Out Cute that I've had for years. 
I think it made the perfect background for the butterfly

I can't say that I'm really in love with the butterfly, but I was trying his mosaic technique.  Don't know that I'll use it again on anything as it really isn't my style...but it does look pretty good once you get all the bits and pieces on the tag.  I actually made two butterflies but there was only room for one on the card, so I'll have to figure out something to do with the other one.

I actually got into my stash and USED my Tim Holtz Idealogy Foliage metal flowers and leaves.
Now I need to find a cute way to display all the fun tags I've been making.  I've got a picture tree on my desk at work and for now I think I'm going to take them there where I can enjoy them each day.

 Well, it's time to call it a night.  I've got a busy weekend ahead, and a night out tomorrow night with my hubby.  We are going to go see a friend and listen to her music at a local Bistro tomorrow night!  Yea for date nights!!

Love the tag! I'm on the fence about the butterfly because I'm not so crazy about that motif [I went through a heavy duty butterfly overdose period] but the rest is great!

March When Tim posted his March tag for the 12 Tags of  2013  I knew I was going to have to do some major improvising because although I have a lot of Tim Holtz products in my stash, the only things I had this time was the Foliage and Memo Pins.   It took me a few days to wrap my head around it... but in the end I'm really happy with how my tag turned out  and it was nice to have some creative time at my art desk. Anna I didn't have the Fringe Die so I  cut my grass by hand.  I looked at the picture of the die and sized my grass to match  Tim's.  I had Green Co-ordinations but not the Kraft one...so my grass is green on both sides of the fence.  I sanded the paper first and then gave it a good dose of Walnut Stain Distress Ink before cutting.  Then after I put it on my tag, I gave it a little hint of Picked Raspberry. ...

Project 30 - Day 16 - January 30, 2007

This is Momma Cat. She adopted us a couple of years ago when she needed a home for her kitties. She's guarding a lizard that she'd been playing with and wasn't quite sure whether I was after it or not. We are having our two weeks of Winter these days with cold, gray skies and blustery wind. What a difference it makes down at the park... This is the same little willow that I posted about a week ago...only now it has been bitten by the cold and turned all brown and sad...

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday? As always I'm running late posting my workdesk, but a busy day at work and then I had errands to run  which kept me away from my desk until late this evening. Once I finally had a chance to sit down I dug out my acrylics to work a bit more in my art journal.   My daughter brought me a snack of popcorn and I had to be careful not to eat my brushes or try and wash them out in the popcorn cup. If you look close on the right side you can see Momma Cat.   She thought I needed supervision and it was all I could do to keep her from walking through the wet paint! ...then when I wasn't paying close attention my other black cat, Sneakers, walked right through my little puddle of black paint.   Now THAT was fun trying to get it all off of his paws.   He wasn't too happy with me after that! and here's a little close-up of the journal page that I'm working on.
