It was a beautiful day first day of Spring. I celebrated by heading to Gatorland and the Bird Rookery for the morning.

Finally!!! Time out to play!!
It's been ages since I got out and played with my camera. Between the HOT and HUMID weather...or the pouring down rain it has just not been good shooting weather. Went out for a couple walks this week and got a few pix that I like. Took this one today along the edge of one of our local lakes... Tri-Color Heron in non-breeding plumage... My little girl is growing up....
Can't believe she is in High School already. We spent the day yesterday shopping for some cute teen clothes. This is her first year not wearing school uniforms and we had so much fun shopping. She got contacts this summer...so glasses are a thing of the past too. So many changes this year and it is so good to see her growing up and handling them so well. Have a GREAT YEAR, my (still) baby girl!!!

I've really wanted to get some shots of Mariah playing her guitar. Took a couple shots last night...then tonight I felt like playing in Photoshop...so here she is.
More Butterflies!!!
Another trip to the Lukas Butterfly Encounter today, and it was a HOT one. I may just have to wait until Fall or Winter before I go again. I got a new lens, a Canon 100mm 2.8 macro and was itching to try it out. It's going to take a bit of getting used to as the DOF is so shallow when working with macro, but it is VERY sharp and I think I am going to LOVE it!
